The Agricultural University of Iceland (AUI) offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in equine science. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of the program and teaching, in addition to conducting research related to the Icelandic horse.
The Agricultural University of Iceland is an educational and research institution in the fields of agriculture, land use, environmental sciences, landscape architecture, and urban planning. AUI offers BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees, along with vocational education and training in agricultural studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead internationally recognized research in equine science, with focus on the Icelandic horse
- Publish peer-reviewed scientific articles, obtain research grants, and actively participate in both international and domestic collaborations
- Teach and develop courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Supervise students in research projects
- Actively engage in professional development and contribute to the growth of the university
Required Qualifications
- PhD in animal science, equine science, or related fields
- Knowledge and experience in equine science research
- Teaching experience, along with the ability and willingness to communicate knowledge in diverse ways in the field of study
- A clear vision for the future of research and development within the field
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong collaboration skills and agility in communication
Further Information about the Position
Salary according to the applicable collective agreement between the Minister of Finance and the relevant trade union.
