Student short mobility to Colombia. June 7 - 21: Field Trip to the Colombian páramo
Climate warming is disproportionally affecting cold environments, both at high-latitudes in the north and at high-altitudes in mountain regions, including in the tropical Andes. In this traineeship course, we will study the effects of climate change on two well-studied high-altitude regions in Colombia: the Chingaza National Park and the Poleka Kasué station at the Nevados National Park; and will make comparisons with observations from the Icelandic Tundra. We will study plant communities, soil, herbivores, and ecosystem processes, and will do a cultural visit to the coffee region.
