ECO-INNOVATION IN RURAL AREAS - eco solutions in the rural tourism sector as drivers of regional development
The lecture is devoted to the determinants of rural development, in particular eco-innovations, which are currently a key element in the light of the postulates of sustainable development. The lecture answers the question of what eco-innovations are, and the given examples of eco-innovations will show their application. Eco-innovative solutions in Poland are very popular in the tourism sector in rural areas and not only. The construction of eco-hotels and eco-agritourism has additional possibilities of financial support from the European Funds, which makes the “eco” trend very popular among entrepreneurs in the sector.
About the speaker
Dr. Julia Wojciechowska-Solis, University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Poland PhD in economics, employed at the Faculty of Agrobioengineering at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. Her scientific specialization covers issues of local development, including innovations in rural areas, the impact of organizations working for the socio-economic development of the region, various forms of tourism and factors improving the quality of life in rural areas. Author or co-author of over 80 scientific publications. Member of three Scientific Societies. Project Manager of two research projects: MINIATURA 5 National Science Center (national) and Visegrad Funds (international).
