Job Opportunity: Financial Project Manager

The Agricultural University of Iceland (AUI) is expanding its research management services and is seeking an experienced and driven Financial Project Manager to join its team. In this key role, you will provide essential support to the university's research community, helping to secure external funding and ensuring effective management including financial management of projects.

• Collaborate with AUIs research groups to develop, coordinate, and submit competitive grant proposals at national and European levels

• Provide leadership and expert guidance in the preparation of high-quality research proposals, with a particular focus on budget planning and financial management

• Serve as Financial Project Manager for ongoing research projects, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with reporting requirements

• Work closely with the Head of International Relations and Research Office and the Dean of the Faculty to achieve the faculty's research income targets

• Ensuring close cooperation with the Operations Division and the CFO concerning project settlement and reporting

• Contribute to the university's overall strategic goals.

• MSc in Project Management or a related field

• Proven experience in project management, with a preference for experience in coordinating Horizon funded projects

• Proven experience in project planning, budgeting and financial accounting

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Cooperation and communication skills.

Salaries are according to the current collective agreement made by the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the relevant trade union.
