Dr. Eyjólfur Guðmundsson has been temporarily appointed to the position of Assistant Rector and will, among other duties, serve as the Head of the new faculty of Life and Land until a permanent dean is appointed. Eyjólfur will officially begin his role on August 11th, but has already started familiarizing himself with the activities of the AUI.
Eyjólfur was the Rector of the University of Akureyri (HA) from 2014 to 2024. Prior to that, he worked as Director of Analysis and Economist at CCP, and from 2000 to 2007 at HA, including as Dean of the School of Business and Science.
