The position of Assistant Professor in Restoration Ecology at the Agricultural University of Iceland is now open for applications. The faculty's mission is to build a bridge between nature and society through research, teaching, training, and consulting in the fields of sustainable land use and ecosystem restoration.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Building internationally recognized research in the field of restoration ecology and related disciplines within the environmental sciences

Publishing peer-reviewed scientific articles, securing research grants, and active participation in both international and domestic collaborations

Participation in teaching and curriculum development at the GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme and academic programs at the university

Supervision of students at GRÓ LRT and other academic programs at the university

Active participation in professional development and institutional growth within the university
Qualifications
- PhD in Restoration Ecology or related environmental science disciplines

Experience in research and work related to restoration ecology and sustainable land use

Publications in recognized international academic forums

Strong collaboration skills and communication abilities

Proficiency in Icelandic and English, both spoken and written
