Assistant Professor in Restoration Ecology

The position of Assistant Professor in Restoration Ecology at the Agricultural University of Iceland is now open for applications. The faculty's mission is to build a bridge between nature and society through research, teaching, training, and consulting in the fields of sustainable land use and ecosystem restoration.

 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Building internationally recognized research in the field of restoration ecology and related disciplines within the environmental sciences
  • Publishing peer-reviewed scientific articles, securing research grants, and active participation in both international and domestic collaborations

  • Participation in teaching and curriculum development at the GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme and academic programs at the university

  • Supervision of students at GRÓ LRT and other academic programs at the university

  • Active participation in professional development and institutional growth within the university

 

Qualifications

  • PhD in Restoration Ecology or related environmental science disciplines
  • Experience in research and work related to restoration ecology and sustainable land use

  • Publications in recognized international academic forums

  • Strong collaboration skills and communication abilities

  • Proficiency in Icelandic and English, both spoken and written

According to regulations of the Agricultural University of Iceland the rector is permitted to grant a promotion to the position of Associate or Full Professor immediately following a new recruitment, should the appointee fulfil required qualifications.
