The AUI Student Association, UNIgreen, The International Student Representative, and the Agricultural University of Iceland (AUI) have joined forces (or rather, joined feet) to launch “UNIgreen invites you to Dance.”

The aim of the initiative is to bring together local and international students through music and dance while at the same time strengthening connections to Icelandic cultural traditions.

The first folk dance evening took place last Monday, and at least one more event is planned in the historic old gymnasium at the Hvanneyri campus.

The organisers invited dance instructors who dances with the Icelandic Folk Dance Association to teach traditional Icelandic folk dances and songs, providing international students with a unique opportunity to experience Icelandic traditions firsthand. The event was met with great enthusiasm, bringing together participants from different parts of the world in an atmosphere of friendship, cooperation, and cultural exchange.

The next dance evening will take place on Monday, 2 November, and all students and staff are warmly invited to participate.
